En la caja de la cinta original T678, Lomax indica que el informante era rubio como "un albino escocés" ("the guitar player was [...] blond he looked like a Scotch albino. Had a fu[...]y squac cut head face with a strange wide humorless sad [...] into which sticks an unlet cigarette in a hold[...] before he begins to play"). 

En sus cuadernos de campo, Lomax anota: "El Rubio-Almaraz, Vad 1897 -not gitano - from Castile la Vieja - his family were poor farmers - he is the only [...] in the family - began to be an afficionado about 20  years old became professional at about 45 years - live in Seville - plays in Las Ventas - a bachelor - no [...] radio - has played for Niña de Antequera".
