En su primer programa para la BBC, Lomax incluyó la grabación del Fandango de Comares, y comentó:
"My journey began at a festival of Spanish folk dancing in the Plaza de Toros at Palma on a soft Mallorcan summer evening. A large, rather apathetic crowd was watching a very well stage managed show; troupes of pretty Falangistas from nice families were presenting the dances they had learned from the much less comfortably off peasants. But there were one or two excellent singers like Señorita Muñoz and her group from Cadiz. She was singing a Fandango from Comares near Malaga [audio del fandango]. The hard sweet Andalucian voice cracked like a whip over the heads of the young dancers; their long polka dotted skirts swung high; the crowd applauded [...]".
